Pick Your Flavor: More Images of Ford Focus RS Le Mans Emerge
We've given you the full report on the five Ford Focus RS models painted in the brands historic Le Mans racing colors and donning new hides and Alcantara inside. They're set to run a few laps at the Le Mans Classic event this July on the Circuit de la Sarthe.
Until they hit the track for some light laps, we've got a few more images courtesy of the Ford UK pr crew.
Here are some of details:
- Paying tribute to the Ford Mk II of 1966 is the black Focus with silver stripes running the length of the car. Ford's Le Mans win marked the end of a six-year Ferrari victory streak. The race also marked the first time the 200 km/h average speed barrier speed was broken.
- Sprayed in red with white stripes, this RS pays homage to Ford's win the following year, in 1967. Though Ferrari was out for revenge, drivers Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt were able to secure a win in their Mk IV.
- In the center, the RS painted white with a blue stripe surrounded by thin red stripes pays respect to the Ford Mk IIB entered in the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans.
- Commemorating GT40 wins in 1968 and 1969 is the sky blue RS with an orange front fascia and stripe. Ford continued to dominate at Le Mans, beating the likes of Porsche, Alfa Romeo, and, once again, Ferrari.
- The two-tone royal blue with white RS recalls the Capri RS 2600 which finished tenth overall and won the touring category that year.
We especially like the white RS set next to the #16 GT40.
We must ask: Which would you take home?
Enjoy...
