Well I thought I would start this to help everyone that needs it. This is a fix I came up with to solve a tire rub I'm having on the back of my '10 sedan. I am lowered 1.5" (or more) and have a set of aftermarket wheels installed that are on the large side size wise. they are a 17x7.5" with a +40mm offset, this places them really close to the outer edge of the wheel wells. Here is the problem, that little bolt holding the top of the bumper hit the tires when going over large bumps or taking hard corners. First step, remove the bolt! Step 2, make your cut. (remember measure twice and cut once) I also cut the mounting tab off and a little more from the bumper to make it look cleaner. Step 3, make sure you like what you just did (no going back!) Step 4, make a new bracket to remount the bumper cover lower down and out of the way. thats all for now but I also moved the bottom corner of the bumper out about 1-1/2 - 2" to better cover the tires, and it looks killer. I will post more pictures tonight when I do the other side as well as a finished photo of how it turned out. Before, after,

So if you drop a bit more, would you be rubbing again?

nope, I can put her all the way to the stops and nothing rubs..........in the back Now the front will rub if I turn hard and hit a big enough bump, but thats kind or rare. One good note is that when I do the mud flaps I have to remount the fender lips anyway, so this will all tie in great.

Would you be rubbing on the fenders or wheel well.

In the front? it would be the lip, and no fender rolling would not help when half the tire is sticking out in a turn
