I've been quiet for awhile, long story short I've been busy... ;D Bought this short block from PaP for $82 out of a rolled MTX '01 Focus. Mileage is unknown but as you can probably tell from the pics, its in damn good shape. Been bead blasting thanks to Ryan for letting me use his blasting cabinet. Before an Afters... Forgot the before's but again HUGE difference And that will do it for now. Block, crank, ARP main studs, and cylinder head are currently at Fultz Machine Shop getting inspected, cleaned, and machined. Head is getting CC'ed so I can figure out compression ratio. After I get word on what oversize bore I can get away with, I'll be ordering J.E. 9.0:1 pistons, Eagle rods, and Clevite main/rod bearing set. Then comes more cleaning, painting, and finally, assembly

Thanks guys and yes my plan is to replicate a factory Zetec color wise. Want it to look stock right down to the valve cover so no one would ever suspect it was built Right now I'm spending quite a bit of time cleaning up all the casting inside the windage tray. Less imperfections means less chance of the slag breaking loose and going into the bearings.

Thanks everyone! Damn I'm jealous!! Lol ur car is going to be bad ass!! Keep up the good work!!! Also let us know wat the machine shop charged u on all the work? I'm curious I might build a motor too! ✌ You should! Total for machine work came to $480 using Fultz Machine shop just off Rancho on Bonanza. Here's the breakdown: -tank block - $45 -bore cylinders - $145 -deck block - $85 -mill cylinder head - $65 (normally $75 but he cut me 10 off since the head was already clean an built) -tank & polish crank - $50 (turning a crank runs $100) -check CC's of cylinder head - $45 -install ARP main studs & check line bore - $45 Really not bad but if I had to do it all over again, I'd not bothered with CC'ing the head since it takes alot to change CC by either shaving .010+ off or sinking the valves deeper into the head. I also would've installed the main studs myself and just had them check for line bore which that and crank condition will tell you what main/rod bearings you'll need. Luckily I was able to stay with STD, less machine work! Also go with www.racingpartssolution.com/ for your Pistons, Rods, and Main/Rod bearings. By far the cheapest, spent just under a $1k for that. Plus Fernando is simply awesome to deal with. He called me to find out what size shirt I wear so he could throw in a FREE RPS shirt and he went out of his way to find me a MTX ECU with the processor code I wanted. Definitely will be having him tune my car when its ready. And for an update.... there won't be many for the next month or two but its because of something good ;D

It is really coming along. I really enjoyed driving it. You need to make a new thread for the 9_3!

Ha I should! Need to find my memory card first.
Got it running the first day, sounds like a 9 second NA Honda at idle, loping like mad. Had a huge Vacuum leak in a coupler between the MAP sensor and turbo inlet.
Already did alot to it and spent about the best $50 I've spent on a car. Got a new dash without 4"x 4" hole in center, A-pillar trims without holes, hatch struts to ditch the broomstick prop rod, battery tray to move battery back to front, speaker cover to replace broken one, headlight switch to replace bronken one, bunch of misc missing clips, etc.
Will make a thread asap...
