Ok, I've had the Focus for 6 months now and it time to upgrade the sound system. In this first stage I'm going to be replacing the main speakers in the doors. I'm trying to keep the cost reasonable. So my questions to you all are, 1 where is the best place to get them, 2 any good ideas on brands. Thanks everyone.

i got the polk momos in mine now, used to have the infinity reference components in my old car. Th polks have more bass, but the infinity sounded better all around IMO. www.onlinecarstereo.com/ is a good place to start. Also I've gotten a lot of car audio on Ebay for a good price, usually half off retail price.

Thanks for the web site. I have been bouncing back and forth between Crutchfield and sonic electronics for the info and price.

Just got the first set of speakers in. I went with a Pioneer TS-A1302C 5 1/4in component setup for the front doors. They run at 2-35watts RMS, should be perfect for the stock deck to run clean. Now just have to make up my mind about the rear doors, probably go with a standard Pioneer 6x8 in the rear. (TS-A6872R or TS-A6882R)

Got the speakers installed today, took about 5hrs total.its always fun to rip apart a new car. I did lose some bass with the new speakers but that's what a sub is for, so far the sound is a lot cleaner, and that's what matters.

When you get a sub, I've got a 1 farad capacitor that I'd give up for cheap, if you're interested.
