I got to test fit a set of ATS (DTC superlight) wheels today, all I can say is wow. they are 17x7.5 W/40 offset and they are right around 16lbs! they put the tires right at the edge of the fenders and make the car look 100 times better. what do you all think? Attachments:

Looks great in my opinion! Do you know if that wheel size setup will rub with your 1.5" drop from your FRPP kit? I think I'll be putting my 5-speed swap on hold and getting new wheels/tires next. But I do approve!

They will probably rub a little. The tires that are on them are a 235/40ZR17. The wheels are 17x7.5 with with 40 offset, which is right at the limit of what a focus can handle. There wide but man they look awesome. In June I'm getting a set of SES 17's that I'm not going to need, they look like the EAP's but with a different finish. I'll let you have them for $200 for the set.

It will be the first week of June, that's when my mom is coming down from Oregon with them. If it was not for the fact that the ATS wheels were so dam light I would run them.

now she's looking good! I can definitely feel the difference in the tire width increase (from 195mm / 235mm). the tires are a lot louder as well, I guess that means I get to turn up the radio more. I think I have achieved the look I had envisioned from the start. Attachments:

Well got about 1300 miles on the new tires and wheels, I finely found a rub. If I turn hard and hit a really hard bump or something then I just get a little fender action. but other then that, all is well, still turning heads!

Cool, so what make & model tires are you running and how do you like them? I'm currently researching now and like to get opinions for when the time comes. Still interested in those EAPs too ;D

The tires that came with the rims are Falcon GRB FK451's, size 235/40ZR17. over all they are good. I still need to get an alignment, so I might be missing a little traction or other wise great handling. I have put a little over 1500 miles on them and they are very predictable at there limits. I can really tell the lack of a rear sway bars is hurting the race car handling I'm after. The 235 width is probably to wide for a street driven Focus, with our cars being so light you loose a little to much ground contact pressure and the resulting traction (and they rub a little). I think for my next set I will go to a 215 by 40 or 45, depending on price and my mood. Also the 235's are recommended for at least an 8" wide rim and mine are only 7.5" wide. Hope that helps a little. Attachments:
