well, just got done cleaning up the front yard and doing a quick wipe down of the interior of the car. Still need to rotate the tires but for now its too hot, maybe tonight when it cools down. I wish I had more money, got an itch to work on the car and can't! I need leather seats! Anyone have a tap/die set? still need to cut down my shifter and re-thread it for my poorboy STS.

I say na just because it looks like it'll be a B***h to rev match down shift and stuff. I mean whatever floats your boat. If you do it I mean it'll add to the BECAUSE... RACE CAR factor

I dont know, its a little to hard core for a 160hp DD street car. The second gen guys over on FF wanted to see if it could be done, what the hell, an hour with some card stock and there you go, gated 5 speed shift gate. It would be a PITA to make and make look good. the real hard part is making a strong enough mounting plate/base to attach it to, if you go to a gated shift plate you would need to remove the return springs from the base plate so it wouldn't rub or vibrate all the time. theirs going to be a ton of stress on the gate because it has to hold everything perfect all the time. If I ever get board and happen to have a spare grand laying around then maybe Ill make it.

Just got back from camping out with a buddy and his family in Zion national park. Wish the weather here could be like there... Oh and also the scenery
Bob, I have a tap/die set and the shifter threads should be 12 x 1.25. Only problem is I'm not sure if I'll make the meet or not. And if you go with the gated design, make sure to slant the corners to make it easier/faster to shift going from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th or vise versa, otherwise the shifter will have a tendency to hang up and you'll miss gears.
