So here is the first stage of degreasing the block. There are layers upon layers of crap on this engine. I plan on doing it all by hand so its definitely gonna take me some time.

It's getting the little crap out from around sharp edges and in corners that's a PITA.

Here is just a close up of how thick the crap is inside of the engine bay. This is the cross member.

Lol I'm starting to clean the gunk off my MTX trans before I start building it, looked sorta like that. Just a tip, I've found using Gunk engine degreaser sitting on the parts for 5-10 minutes and then using fine steel wool (like #0000) to get in tight creases and crevices works really well. After that just blast again with engine degreaser. I've found using Carb or Brake cleaner A) stains my hands B) evaporates too quickly thus going through cans like no tomorrow and C) just does a better job at actually breaking down stuff all the way if soaked.

looking good, that engine looks so tiny just hanging in space! Now I see why everyone shoves in a bigger motor or giant turbo, plenty of room

Thanks bro. Thats why the p/s, a/c lines are removed. Gives more room for the intercooler piping and turbo manifold. I would actually prefer to supercharge it, and add a/c. ;D
